New Site - Under Construction

For those who are used to visiting my Geocities site, I have just heard that Geocities is closing down in October 2009, so I will ensure I have all information on this site.

If you need information urgently over the next few weeks, please visit my other site at www.geocities.com/paynter_waau. I will eventually copy information from that site onto this site but currently I am still working on this site.

Welcome to the Familial Bowel Cancer Support Group for Western Australia. I hope to be able to help families and carers (as well as the patients themselves) for those with FAP and other familial bowel cancers to contact others with the same problems who are living in Western Australia.

We held a picnic in January 2008 which was well attended and we're planning another one on ANZAC day. I will try and let you know when the next one is. You'll find the pikkies from the January picnic here. Just follow the link at the bottom of the page. I will endeavour to move those photos here as well.

Ideally, I want this place to be somewhere where I can put new information for familial bowel cancer patients, families and carers to read and work with and, also, I'd love to be able to put up information showing calendar events for the group - like the picnic. But, we'll see how that works out.

I'm still new to this, but I've seen that there are quite a number of different cancers in society with support mechanisms whilst us with familial bowel cancers have no support mechanisms other than the familial cancer registry and the Cancer Council. So, I thought it was about time something was put in place. As time goes by, I'll add other links to other bowel cancer sites to make sure everyone has the info they need.

Please see the link above for more info. I'll add to this when I can but I'll make sure both sites are available until then. So far, there is no link from the Geocities site to this one. I'll work on that.
